Olsen Slats



What you'll need:

A tube (or two) Download the Olsens tube here
The slats file
Download here
No outer filters needed

  1. Open up your tube (s) in PSP, including the slat (13.pspimage)
  2. Choose 2 lighter colors from your main tube
  3. Set your foreground to gradient
  4. Open a new transparent image of 650x480 and flood fill with your gradient
  5. Add a new raster layer and select all
  6. Copy and paste your (main) tube into the selection
  7. Select none
  8. Effects/ Edge effects/ Enhance more
  9. Effects/ Artistic effects/ Enamel
  10. Effects/ Image effects/ Standard settings
  11. Change the blend mode to Luminance and the opacity to 25-35 (I used 25)
  12. Merge visible and duplicate the merged layer
  13. Close the bottom layer
  14. Make sure you are on the top layer
  15. Add a new Raster Layer
  16. Select All
  17. Copy and paste 13.pspimage into the selection
  18. Select none
  19. Activate your Magic wand, press your shift key and click on all black parts
  20. Press your delete button once
  21. Selections/ Modify/ Expand with 10
  22. Flood fill the selection with your gradient
  23. copy and paste your (other) tube into the selection
  24. Effects/ Edge effects/ Enhance
  25. Effects/ Artistic effects/ halftone
  26. Effects/ 3D effects/ Drop shadow
  27. Select none
  28. Merge down
  29. Resize with 80%, all Layers Unchecked
  30. Activate your magic wand and click inside the transparent area
  31. Selections/ Invert. Selections/ Modify/ Select selection borders
  32. Flood fill with a dark color from your tube (change your background color and not your front)
  33. Effects/ 3D effects/ Inner bevel
  34. Select none
  35. Resize again with the same settings as in step 29
  36. Mirror the frame and move the frame to the left and up a bit
  37. Effects/ 3D effects/ Drop shadow
  38. Copy and paste your (main) tube as a new layer and put in it’s place
  39. Repeat the drop shadow from step 37
  40. Open your bottom layer and make it your active one
  41. Effects/ Texture Effects/ Blinds , color is  #13181b
  42. If you want to also create a background also, then copy this layer and paste as a new image and minimize
  43. Add a border of 5 pixels in the dark color you have used to create your inner frame
  44. Select the border with your magic wand and apply the same Inner bevel as in step 33
  45. Select none
  46. Resize if you want to and add your watermark

Maximize the pasted bottom layer and change the opacity to 75
Adjust/ Softness/ Soft Focus with the default settings

Save everything as a JPG and assemble in your Letter creation software
